Engineers in Real Life
January 26, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Hosted by Clear Lake High School’s Parent Teacher Student Association, this event offers the opportunity to learn more about what Engineers do at work, and what it takes to become an engineer.
This event is set up so each engineer or company has a table. They usually bring different types of visuals to help illustrate the work they do so the students can better understand what it means to be an engineer. The students self-guide and are able to speak one-on-one with the engineers, allowing the students a better understanding of the many different types of engineering and fields engineers work in. We have a video from last year’s event that may do a better job of explaining it.
This will be the 4th year we’ve held the Engineers in Real Life event at Clear Lake High School, but the first time we have been able to invite all students in the Houston/Galveston area. Last year we had 350 attendees, we are expecting at least twice that number this year.
For engineers who are interested in helping, please fill out our Google Form to help me create the floorplan and guide for the students.
(The information collected on this form will only be used for Engineers in Real Life and will not be shared with any outside entities.)
If you would like any further information, please contact Michelle at 713-855-8056 or Engineering@ClearLakeHS.org.
We look forward to your help in showing students the many things engineers do.
