Klein Collins High School 2019 College & Career Extravaganza
March 7 @ 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
In our continued effort to increase the college and career awareness of our students, we are hosting our 9th annual College and Career Readiness Extravaganza at Klein Collins High School on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. This event involves approximately 100 businesses and local secondary institutions with displays set up on tables in our small gym. Generally, over 2000 students attend this event.
Our goal is to give students more exposure to career options, to encourage them to pursue secondary opportunities and to see the relationship between high school courses and their futures. We hope that by visiting with representatives from businesses and secondary institutions the students will understand the requirements and skills needed for different types of careers. This will be set up similar to a “mock” job fair so students can learn about presenting themselves to prospective employers, acquiring information about different careers, and networking with professionals.
For those of you who participated with us before, we hope you will join us again. The comments received each year from both the employer and student evaluations continue to indicate that this is a successful event for all involved.
